Es war Keinmal – Never Upon a Time…

In December 2005, Beatrice Beckmann (Cyl) won the contest “Anthologist of 2005 – Build your book!” which was hosted by Schwarzer Turm as a way to get new ideas for projects. “Never Upon a Time” was the winner, and will be her debut as an editor.

Fairytales exist all over the world, and have for centuries. Again and again, they’re retold in new ways without losing any of their original attraction. In “Never Upon a Time”, twelve young manga artists go on a journey through the fairytale world, and the old stories are interpreted, from comedy to drama, in their very original way. You can admire, among others, “The Carnation”, “The Witch Baba Yaga”, and “The Frog Prince”.

That almost sounds like only the good people in fairytales are important.
